Most Stupid Tips for iPhone Battery Life Extension

Finally with iOS 4, Apple introduced its new features to its long awaiting iPhone fans. With new multitasking function, users can run Skype, GPS, Pandora or other useful apps in the background while surfing the net or chatting with someone. But with the more and more awesome functions and programs, the iPhone battery is thus under heavier burden. Apple promises up to 7 hours of talk time on 3G and 14 hours of talk time on 2G, standby time of up to 300 hours, up to 10 hours of solid use on Wi-Fi, up to 10 hours of video playback, and 40 hours of audio playback. However, you might have found significantly lesser lifespan according to your using experience. Then, there go dozens of tricks to extend the battery life, like turning off push GPS apps, and killing background tasks, most of which are stupid and absurd. Now, let's mock at those stupid tips. 1. Minimize use of location services It says that location services should be used when really necessary, because using programs such as google maps suck most energy of the battery. But one of the most important reasons why we use the location services is that we can find our iPhones if they're misplaced or stolen. 2. Turn off Push Notifications and Push Mail It's strongly recommended to turn off these third party apps, as they're battery killer on iPhone by running at all hours automatically. If we do like this, we nearly turn iPhone's awesomeness off. Personally, I like these apps best as when using iPhone I can get contact with my friends and know what happens in the first time. 3. Turn off 3G It's the most stupid advice to save battery power! Just because surf the Internet on 2G can last a longer time than on 3G, they suggest turning off 3G to extend battery life. This is ridiculous, if I use 2G in most time why I need an iPhone 3G? I guess they really mean that it's best to quit using iPhone. 4. Kill Background Tasks I mentioned before, the most important new feature of iPhone is multitasking function. We can run other programs when we browse the web or talking on the phone. By killing background tasks, this new feature becomes meaningless. These stupid tips are widely spread and accepted, I just can not help mocking at their nonsense. To extend battery life, they suggest turning this awesome phone into something lame. F that. Fortunately, there still are practical ways to extend battery life, of which the most convenient and practical one is to have extra chargers to keep iPhone full of power. Next time, I'll explain in details what the really practical ways to extend battery life are, in article "4 Most Practical Tips for iPhone Battery Life Extension".
